How to save tomato seeds in 5 steps. 1. Scoop out seeds along with the gelatinous material surrounding them. 2. Place seeds and gelatinous material in a jar with a lid. 3. Let the jar sit on the counter for 3-4 days to ferment. 4. Pour the contents of the jar into a pitcher and fill with water. Viable seeds will sink to the bottom.
