It’s a log, it’s a rock, it’s an elephant seal! Northern elephant seals can be found on the Pacific coast from Baja California, Mexico, to the Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands. Elephant seals are named for the large noses sported by adult males that resemble an elephant's trunk.
