A suspect shot by California Highway Patrol officers following a crash on Interstate 5 in the Lathrop area has died in the hospital, officials confirmed Thursday. The CHP's Stockton division said officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday to a crash in the southbound lanes of the freeway near State Route 120.
