Replying to @Emma Mexican Food! Pinto beans are an awesome side! I'd take them over white rice any day! These frijoles fritos have fewer carbs and 3x the protein than a 1/4 cup of white rice! To boil the beans, I started with 6 cups of water over medium heat and as the beans soaked up water I add more water. Make sure the water you’re adding to the beans is warm! I salt them as they cook and start tasting them as soon as they soften up a bit! Your beans are ready when you can easily poke a fork
