Spent part of the day watching the elephant seals in San Simeon — what a sight! These massive marine mammals haul out on the beach to rest, molt, and raise their pups after months spent diving deep in the open ocean. Males can grow up to 16 feet long and 4,500 pounds, while females reach around 10 feet and 1,500 pounds.
