Waymo is routing its fleet of autonomous vehicles away from a large swath of San Francisco’s downtown and main transit corridor on Monday as the city prepares for more protests related to raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Several Waymo self-driving taxis were vandalized or set on fire during protests in Los Angeles, social media videos show.

Protesters smashed the windows of multiple Waymo robot taxis and then set them on fire. The police warned of toxic fumes released by burning lithium-ion batteries.
