US President Donald Trump says he is directing his government to reopen and expand Alcatraz, the notorious former prison on a California island.

The Scottish First Minister will unveil his government’s programme for the coming year in a keynote statement to Holyrood on Tuesday.

The Scottish First Minister said he would make his position clear ahead of a key vote on the proposed legislation on May 13.
