SACRAMENTO — Crews are battling a grass fire that is threatening homes in the north Sacramento area late Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews were dispatched around 12:55 p.m. to an area along Delta Shores Circle South in the Meadowview neighborhood.

A spark and a combination of dry fuels, winds and low humidity create the perfect environment for a fast-growing fire.
