San Francisco Giants fans only had to wait a couple of innings for new designated hitter Rafael Devers to pay dividends.

Rafael Devers strolled into the clubhouse side-by-side with home run king Barry Bonds, a fellow left-handed slugger who San Francisco’s new big hitter has long admired from afar.

Devers, as became custom during his 1,053 games as a member of the Red Sox, hit a couple of rockets in his San Francisco debut against the Guardians. In all, it was a 2-for-5 night with an RBI double and two strikeouts as San Francisco lost, 3-2.
