American Danielle Collins ends Iga Swiatek's defence of her Italian Open title with a 6-1 7-5 victory in the third round.

ROME — Iga Świątek ’s struggles continue, at one of the last places anyone in tennis would have expected. Świątek, a master of clay-court tennis and defending champion at the Italian Open, lost to American Danielle Collins in the second round, falling 6-1, 7-5.

Danielle Collins says she used all of her past experience against Iga Swiatek to figure out the best way to play against the five-time Grand Slam champion and it worked out perfectly for her in Rome.
