Jake Burger returned to the Texas Rangers lineup on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies, serving as their designated hitter.

Burger has missed 20 games since being placed on the injury list on July 13 with a left quadriceps injury he sustained two days earlier while running out a grounder during the top of the fifth inning in a 7-3 win over the Houston Astros.
