A man whose father, brother and sister died “in dreadful circumstances” has told MPs their sympathy “only goes so far” as he urged them to get on with the process to legalise assisted dying.

Channel 4 chief executive Alex Mahon has said the UK media industry must avoid becoming an “American news swamp” where young people get their news from unregulated platforms such as social media.

The Government is expected to seek to bring the measures into force as soon as possible once the legislation is approved by MPs and Lords.
