The former NFL tight end, who went to three Pro Bowls during his 14-year career, predicted back in JANUARY that Sanders would fall to the fifth round. The prediction came during an episode of the "Bussin' with the Boys" podcast where he also made a $1,000 bet with co-host Will Compton about where Sanders would fall in the draft.

Shedeur Sanders was not the only prospect to receive a prank call during the NFL draft. Kyle McCord, the former Syracuse quarterback who was taken by the Eagles last weekend, told Philadelphia-area media that someone tried to prank him while the draft was ongoing.

On the latest episode of the Scoop City podcast (starts at 10:00 mark), The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported toward the end of the 2024 season the Giants had Sanders ranked as the No. 1 quarterback on their big board. "Once they realized they weren't gonna get Cam Ward," Russini reported, "Shedeur to them was their top quarterback."
