A Qantas flight (QF2) flying from London to Singapore has been forced to make an urgent landing in Azerbaijan, after a passenger suffered a life-threatening cardiac emergency mid-flight.

The airline has apologised to customers stranded overnight in Baku and promised to get them to Singapore “as soon as possible”.
Qantas passengers and crew are experiencing a unique stopover in the Azerbaijan capital of Baku following a medical emergency, but should be on their way 4.30pm local time, or 10.30pm AEST.
A Qantas A380 flight from London to Singapore was diverted to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku due to “due to a medical incident onboard”.
Qantas said the QF2 flight was originally due for routine maintenance checks in Singapore, but because of the emergency diversion, those checks had to be completed in Baku instead.
