The San Francisco 49ers were dealt a disappointing update on a potential Trey Hendrickson trade. He's been linked to them for weeks.

San Francisco star defensive end Nick Bosa tore the ACL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Injuries have accumulated quickly for the 49ers. In addition to Bosa and Purdy, star tight end George Kittle (hamstring), wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder, ankle) and left guard Ben Bartch (ankle) have been hampered by injuries.

With Nick Bosa out for the season, the most important thing for the San Francisco 49ers is clearly the progression of rookie Mykel Williams. Williams recorded his first sack of the season, and it does appear that he has progressed this season. Notably, the team is working to get him into pass-rush situations where he can win.
