Pardoned Capitol rioter charged with threatening to kill Hakeem Jeffries at NYC event this week
Some rioters chanted to hang then-Vice President Mike Pence, threatened to kill then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and beat police officers with dozens of makeshift weapons, including bats, sticks, poles, bear spray and beams. Some were accused of carrying guns, knives and handmade weapons.
Prosecutors said Christopher Moynihan was among the first rioters to enter the Capitol grounds and watched rioters fight with police at the rotunda door.
New York State Police say the man was arrested after they received word from the FBI that that he made "threats to kill a member of Congress."
The House minority leader confirmed in a statement that he was the subject of a “credible death threat” from someone “with every intention to carry it out.”
The New York man, Christopher Moynihan, appears to be the only rioter so far who has been charged again with committing an offense against an elected official.
