Cape Cod and the South Shore are still coping with the wrath of the Blizzard of ’26. The tally of power outages has dropped below a quarter-of-a-million customers in the dark, with 216,456, as of 5 p.
A destructive nor’easter is hitting Cape Cod Monday, causing whiteout conditions, dangerous wind gusts and flooding. Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts ahead of the nor’easter.
After a week of uncertain forecasts, Cape Cod is under a blizzard warning, part of a "significant" nor'easter expected to hit Massachusetts Sunday, all day Monday, and into Tuesday. The blizzard warning begins at 4 p.m. Sunday for all 15 Cape Cod towns and Martha's Vineyard, and it remains in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
