On June 14, more than 50 million people across all 50 states joined in one of the largest single-day protests against "President Trump’s authoritarianism," according to Studio City Rising, a local event organizer. The latest "No Kings" rallies and marches will take place in dozens of Los Angeles County locations.
Protesters flooded into streets chanting, marching and waving homemade signs. Organizers said nearly 7 million people showed up for the demonstrations across the country.
Nationwide "No Kings" protests on Oct. 18 will target President Donald Trump's immigration policies and deportation operations in major U.S. cities.
The protests also drew the support of Ben Stiller (an avid basketball fan) who shared a photo of a child holding a sign that reads, “No Kings except for Jalen Brunson” — a reference to the star Knicks player. He wrote, “Love this #NoKingsOct18 .”
As millions of Americans take to the streets — from New York to Los Angeles — Hollywood is voicing its support for the nationwide No Kings protests.
In June, millions of activists across the U.S. gathered for “No Kings” protests in all 50 states, in what was called a “nationwide day of defiance.” Their message? The United States doesn’t have kings – and people need to remind the current administration that public officials hold office to serve the public and not themselves.
