Top-ranked men's tennis player Jannik Sinner will go to sport's highest court in April for the World Anti-Doping Agency's appeal that seeks to ban him from the sport for at least one year. The Court of Arbitration for Sport said Friday that it has scheduled a closed-doors hearing April 16-17 at its headquarters in Lausanne.

Iga Swiatek, a self-described “control freak,” is taking new precautions — including holding on to extra samples of medicine she takes, in case they need to be tested at some point — after a doping case she describes as probably the worst time in her life.

"Jannik Sinner should be suspended because every athlete is responsible for what goes into his body," Sorgal began. "In the event of acquittal, the entire anti-doping system would make itself ridiculous in the eyes of the world," he added.

It is a topic that shadowed tennis in 2024 and is still a talking point as the 2025 Grand Slam season opens at the Australian Open on Sunday (Saturday EST): doping and the cases involving Jannik Sinner — which is still not resolved — and Iga Swiatek.

Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek were both able to go for months last season without anyone knowing what was happening behind the scenes and that they'd failed doping tests.

Iga Swiatek says that her positive doping test was abstract to her as she did not know that medicine could be contaminated.

It is a topic that shadowed professional tennis in 2024 and is still a talking point with the 2025 Grand Slam season set to open this weekend.
