Tallon Griekspoor won the biggest match of his entire career in the quarterfinals of the Dubai ATP 500 yesterday. The Dutch ace – who is a very fearsome player on this surface thanks to his serve and aggressive tennis – was literally one step away from defeat against Daniil Medvedev.

Griekspoor came from behind to triumph 2-6 7-6 (9-7) 7-5 over the Russian at the Dubai Tennis Championships on Thursday. Medvedev had four match points across Griekspoor's final two service games of the second set, yet each one was clawed back.
