The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not sign an arrest warrant for Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) sent by the Metropolitan Police Department Friday over an alleged assault last week, according to multiple news reports.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington, D.C. declined to sign an arrest warrant sent to them by local police for a Republican Congressman who happens to be an ally of President Donald Trump, according to a new report.

Both the Washington, D.C., police and the Metropolitan Police confirmed Monday that they were investigating an alleged assault by the Florida Republican, who has denied wrongdoing. Police reports obtained by News4, an NBC affiliate in the nation's capital, indicated that the alleged altercation began at a luxury penthouse apartment last Wednesday.
