Reports are swirling that the Hornets may be in on Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Charlotte acquired North Carolina native Coby White and sent Collin Sexton to the Chicago Bulls prior to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
The Charlotte Hornets have waived guard Pat Connaughton, the team announced Wednesday night. Connaughton has played in 22 games this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. He's shot a career-high 40.7% from three in his limited action.
The Hornets won their sixth straight game Saturday, edging Wembanyama and San Antonio, 111-106. It’s their longest win streak since 2016.
If Jeff Peterson, the Hornets’ president of basketball operations, does any kind of wheeling and dealing before the deadline, the premise would be gathering more draft capital to add to the already-growing stable Peterson has collected in less than two full years in charge of personnel in Charlotte.
