The Blackhawks will take on the full $5.5 million due in each of the final two contract seasons for a veteran forward caught up in a Kraken numbers game of wingers following Thursday’s trade for Mason

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Andre Burakovsky from the Seattle Kraken on Saturday in exchange for fellow forward Joe Veleno. Chicago also placed defenseman T.J. Brodie on unconditional waivers for purposes of buying out his contract.

Burakovsky has been an extremely efficient scorer throughout his career, but he's now 30 and coming off two poor seasons. The Hawks acquired him for Joe Veleno on Saturday.
