The Lake Fire continued to burn over night in the Silverwood Lake area, prompting mandatory evacuations south of Highway 138 between Interstate 15 and Highway 173, according to Cal Fire officials.

The Lake Fire near Silverwood Lake in San Bernardino County caused evacuations and a rapid spread to 478 acres.

The fire is has burned approximately 478 acres with a "dangerous rate of spread" through heavy brush, firefighters said.
