Tropical Storm Flossie has strengthened off Mexico's southwestern Pacific coast. The weather system reached maximum sustained winds of 65 mph on Monday, moving northwest and is centered about 170 miles southwest of Zihuatanejo.

A depression that was formerly Tropical Storm Barry is dumping rain on eastern Mexico as Tropical Storm Flossie brews off its southwestern Pacific coast

Tropical Storm Barry made landfall early on Monday local time, forecasters said, just south of Tampico, Mexico. The storm was expected to bring heavy rains to the eastern coast of Mexico in the next few days, according to the National Hurricane Center. Barry formed on Sunday and was the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
