With protests planned this weekend, here’s a look at the Kansas City Police Department’s policy on responding to First Amendment protected activities.
There are 15 protests planned throughout Kansas on June 14 to counter a military parade President Donald Trump will attend.
The same day, celebrants in Washington, D.C., will have a military parade to mark the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday.
Hundreds of protesters are expected at rallies in the Kansas City region, including several in Johnson County, as part of a nationwide day of action against the Trump administration's policies.
The Kansas City Police Department adopted the policy in April 2021, nearly a year after the death of George Floyd.
Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe announced Thursday that he has activated the National Guard in anticipation of these protests.
Rallies and protests are taking place across the nation on Flag Day, June 14. Two "No Kings" rallies will take place in the Golden Belt. The Pawnee County Democratic Committee will sponsor a "No Kings" rally from 10 a.
On social media we notice THOUSANDS signed up to join this Kansas City branch of the national protest. And so we can, always, argue about politics but there's no denying this effort is probably a big deal.
