The three sites the U.S. hit on Iran represent the core of the Iranian nuclear infrastructure. Natanz, which was already seriously damaged by Israel, is Iran's oldest and largest site for producing enriched uranium,

President Donald Trump said the strikes, which he described as “very successful,” had hit the Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan sites, with Fordo being the primary target. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed there were attacks early Sunday at all three nuclear sites.

Prior to the attack, Iran had threatened to retaliate against the U.S. if it became involved in its conflict with Israel.
