The National Weather Service confirmed two more tornadoes hitting Michigan last week; bumping up the 2025 total.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The National Weather Service has confirmed two more tornadoes from the powerful line of storms that swept across Michigan late last week, bringing the total number of twisters to 11.

Michigan's recent string of tornadoes has brought the statewide total to 25 so far this year through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. "Through mid-May, that's the fastest pace we've experienced," said Steven Freitag, a meteorologist with the agency based in White Lake Township.

The National Weather Service has confirmed at least four tornadoes touched down on Sunday, with strong winds, hail, and debris seen from miles away.
