British driver George Russell of Mercedes won the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday, ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen just 0.228 seconds behind, with Russell’s Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli in third.
Piastri is now 22 points ahead of Norris after 10 rounds in F1 2025. Max Verstappen has closed in on the top two after Canada, following his second-place finish. George Russell is an outside title contender following his first win since Las Vegas last year.
F1 star Lance Stroll was handed an FIA penalty at the Canadian Grand Prix after Alex Albon was forced to retire from the race. As Stroll battled Pierre Gasly at the final chicane, the Aston Martin star pushed the Alpine wide and onto the grass, with the incident immediately referred to the stewards.
Lance Stroll cited "medical privacy" in refusing to discuss the specifics of the wrist injury or medical procedure that kept the Formula 1 driver from participating in the Spanish Grand Prix two weeks ago.
