“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” clobbered the competition and leaped into the No. 1 spot on Friday — its second in theaters — with $11.7 million in earnings, according to The Numbers.

Although The Fantastic Four: First Steps fared slightly better in the international market, compared to Superman, the latter still outgrossed First Steps, thanks to its domestic box-office numbers. And it appears the second week is shaping up to be a similar story, only by a larger margin.

First Steps” is still number one at the box office in its second weekend, but the movie is facing some serious trouble. It dropped a huge 80% in ticket sales compared to its opening weekend, which is the biggest second-weekend drop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far.
