“This is the idea, but now it is not something we talk about,” Carlucci said. “We have deliberately decided to start [our electric car sales] in the fastest-growing segments [C, D and E]. The right moment will arrive, but this is not quite now.”

At Toyota ’s annual product strategy event last week in Brussels, the Japanese automaker announced it will introduce six new battery electric vehicles in Europe by the end of next year, plus another three from its luxury brand Lexus .

HR+, a new electric crossover. The C-HR+ will be available in both single- and dual-motor configurations. The base model, with a 57.7-kWh battery, delivers 165 horsepower, while the larger 77-kWh pack increases output to 221 hp and extends the estimated WLTP range to 373 miles.

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has shown the FT-Me, a new electric micromobility concept designed to cater to the needs of urban commuters. The compact two-seater vehicle, which combines “premium design with affordability” and is made with recycled materials, aiming to achieve a 90% reduction in carbon footprint compared to current city vehicles.

Toyota announced updates to its European EV offerings, including an electric version of the Toyota C-HR called the C-HR Plus, and a refreshed bZ4X that addresses many of the electric crossover’s shortcomings.

Toyota’s C-HR compact SUV is going electric. The swoopy battery-powered SUV was revealed in Europe, and initially looks to be for the continent only. Dubbed the C-HR+, Toyota said it would be launched in selected European countries this year before a wider rollout across the union next year.
