Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said Friday he trusts the attorney general’s revised opinion on the legality of sending National Guard troops to Memphis for police work, even though it conflicted with previous legal opinions.
The Tennessee State Representative wrote that the National Guard will serve in "supportive, non-enforcement roles such as community safety patrols, traffic control, and site security, assisting local law enforcement but not replacing them.
