MN weather: Snowstorm leads to hundreds of crashes
The Minnesota State Patrol is asking the public to delay or cancel travel plans after the winter storm caused hundreds of crashes statewide.

Genesee County Road Commission drivers are working overtime to treat roads after a winter storm that turned traffic on its head, producing roughly 100 accidents during seven hours on Monday, Dec. 29.
MT. STORM, W.Va. — Winter weather through the higher terrain in West Virginia is blamed for two deaths in the past week. The Grant County Sheriff’s Departmetn says “perilous, hazardous road conditions resulting from recent severe winter weather in the Mt. Storm area of Corridor H” are blamed for two separate fatal accidents.
This week’s winter storm is maintaining its grip on the region. Chautauqua County’s Travel Advisory remains in effect through 7 a.m. Thursday, with blowing lake effect snow impacting travel in select areas of the county.
Central regions received minimal snowfall but dangerous sleet and freezing rain led to power outages and hundreds of flight disruptions.
