Powerball, Mega Millions ended trifecta of jackpots worth $1 billion or more. New year isn't starting out so great if you like playing Florida Lottery.

Over the years, Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots crossed the elusive billion-dollar mark a whopping 14 times. Only once did it surpass $2 billion.

A 56-year-old Washtenaw County man received an email from the Michigan Lottery notifying him of his prize, and when he logged into his account, he discovered that he’d won $1 million.

If you’re a winner, Florida law mandates the following information is public record: Name and location of the retailer where the winning ticket was purchased. Powerball: 10:59 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Mega Millions: 11 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Florida Lotto: 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

A 69-year-old man from the state of Michigan won a prize of one million dollars in the lottery named "Power Ball." He is named Brian Bauer, and he resides in Saline, within the county of Washtenaw.
