The price of a ticket for the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game will increase from $2 to $5 next month. While a ticket will cost more than twice as much starting April 5, Mega Millions officials say the odds of winning the jackpot will improve. There will also be larger starting jackpots and the size of the jackpots will jump more quickly.

The most recent big Mega Millions winner was a lucky lottery ticket holder in Arizona, who struck gold on Jan. 18, winning a $113 million jackpot. According to the lottery, only four tickets matched all six Mega Millions numbers in 2024 – the fewest jackpots won in a calendar year since the game began in 2002.

The Arizona Lottery offers multiple draw games for those aiming to win big. Arizona offers Powerball, Mega Millions, The Pick, Triple Twist, Fantasy 5 and Pick 3 as well as Scratchers, Quick Draw and Fast Play.
