ATLANTA (AP) — A monthslong search for the only Louisiana inmate still on the run after an audacious May jailbreak ended Wednesday when authorities say they found him hiding in a crawl space beneath an Atlanta home, bringing the last of the 10 escapees into custody.
Derrick Groves' arrest marks the end of a months-long saga, set off when the group fled from the lockup after breaking through a cell door and sliding through a hole in the wall behind a toilet as a lone guard took a meal break.
Derrick Groves, the last inmate to be captured after escaping the Orleans Parish Justice Center in May, blew a kiss to the cameras while being taken into custody.
