Quarterback Drew Brees and receiver Larry Fitzgerald have advanced to the next stage of consideration for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class in their first year of eligibility.

Brees was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Purdue. He spent his first five years in the NFL with the Chargers and the final 15 seasons with the New Orleans Saints. The 46-year-old is now working in broadcasting after he retired in 2020. He is a weekly contributor on ESPN’s “First Take.”
