Legendary Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan reportedly is expected to play a sizable role in the organization's search for a new head coach and general manager.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank seems to have lost his patience with the current regime and is reportedly looking to hire a familiar face for a key front office role. According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Blank is eyeing former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan to be the team's president of football operations.

On Monday, a report emerged that Matt Ryan hopes to stay at CBS if/when he becomes the new president of football operations with the Falcons.

The Falcons are creating a "president of football" position who the new general manager and head coach will report to. Longtime Falcons executive Rich McKay will remain with Blank's larger group of family business, but he will no longer be the CEO of the Falcons after more than two decades near the top of the food chain with the team.
