Officials from Upper Township to Cape May reported localized flooding and significant beach erosion Monday, with one community losing 20 feet of protective dune in the storm's aftermath.

On Monday at 2:48 p.m. EST a winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Tuesday 10 a.m. EST until Wednesday midnight EST for Chippewa and Mackinac counties.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro issued a disaster emergency declaration in anticipation of a major and potentially record-breaking winter storm.

The entire Maine coast is facing a blizzard warning from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which forecast whiteout conditions from falling and blowing snow. Coastal flooding is possible in York County, meteorologists say.

An updated winter storm warning was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 4:28 a.m. in effect until 1 p.m. for Schuylkill, Lebanon and Lancaster counties.
