Carlsbad police said on social media platform X that crews were responding to a fire in the area of Camino Minero, near Corte Claro and Paseo Encino. The area is not far from Rancho Santa Fe Road, close to the city’s border with San Marcos. Police asked that people avoid the area.

Firefighters and officers were on scene responding to the blaze, in an area of open space behind the 7500 block of Camino Minero, near Corte Claro and Paseo Encino, close to the Carlsbad and San Marcos city line.

The Carlsbad Police Department is urging people to avoid the area where fire crews are responding. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. It is also unknown at this time whether any damage has been sustained to buildings in the area.
