A second round of "No Kings" demonstrations are planned for Saturday, Oct. 18. Here's where events are scheduled in Washington state.
WASHINGTON — Protesting the direction of the country under President Donald Trump, people gathered Saturday in communities across the U.S. for “No Kings” demonstrations that the president's Republican Party disparaged as “Hate America” rallies.
With chants, costumes and colorful signs, Washingtonians raised their voices against Trump's hard-line policies on immigration, the federal budget and more.
The No Kings movement held its second round of protests in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley on Saturday despite heavy thunderstorms.
Attendees have started gathering for some of the more than 2,600 planned Saturday demonstrations. Millions are expected to turn out, organizers said.
Protests took place in Sacramento, the state's capital, and in several Bay Area cities. Organizers estimate thousands of people gathered for the demonstrations.
