Volkswagen is accelerating its focus on affordable electric vehicles. The company revealed a bold strategy to expand access to e-mobility, with a new entry-level model priced around €20,000.

Volkswagen’s new entry-level EV will be part of the fully electric ID product family. This range has been a major success, with over 1.35 million ID cars sold globally since 2019. The new entry-level EV will be based on the MEB platform. It is a shortened version of the one used with the ID.2all hatchback.

Volkswagen will showcase its new entry-level electric car in the concept form at the beginning of next month (March 2025). The world premiere of the production model is scheduled for 2027. Its price will start at around 20,
