When the New Orleans Saints drafted former Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round with the No. 40 pick, fans probably didn't think he'd be thrust into starter conversations mere weeks after the draft.

Derek Carr is retiring from the NFL, which means the Tyler Shough era in New Orleans is coming sooner than expected.

Shough was rated as the No. 113 overall player and the No. 7 quarterback in the draft class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. The Saints were much higher on Shough as they made him the third quarterback off the board at No. 40 overall.
