Sonny Gray needed just 89 pitches to deal a complete game shutout against the Guardians on Friday, slotting the Cardinals veteran into the history books.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — It was reunion day Friday at at Progressive Field. Right-hander Sonny Gray re-introduced himself to the Guardians, while the Cardinals said hello to Luis Ortiz, their long-time acquaintance from the Pittsburgh Pirates and the NL Central.
