The Kansas City Royals finished their first three-game sweep at Texas since 2003 with a 4-1 win over the Rangers.

Michael Wacha shined across six innings and the bullpen did its job late as Carlos Estévez earned his 21st save to lead all American League relievers. The Royals (37-38) swept the Rangers for the first time since Sept. 1-3, 2014. It’s also their first sweep in Arlington in nearly 22 years (July 11-13, 2003).

Well, leave it to the 2025 Texas Rangers to quickly remind you that they’re still the 2025 Texas Rangers by getting swept by a team with three wins in June while averaging 2.5 runs per game during this homestand. Or maybe this is still the 2024 Texas Rangers. It’s impossible to tell the difference at this point.
