The Kansas City Chiefs will begin the road back to the Super Bowl with a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night. It is also the time of year when many key players and starters will sit out in an attempt to avoid any unnecessary injuries,

The Chiefs recovered a Greg Dortch fumble on the opening kickoff, and with a penalty tacked on, began their first drive at the Arizona 13. Isiah Pacheco went 8 yards on first down before Mahomes threw incomplete to Tyquan Thorton. Cardinals rookie cornerback Will Johnson, though, was cited for defensive pass interference.

As coach Andy Reid mentioned before, Mahomes got the start for the preseason opener, but only received two snaps. The Chiefs were fortunate enough to recover a fumble on the opening kickoff, placing them in the red zone. And it only took two plays for Mahomes to find the endzone, hitting Jason Brownlee for a one-yard score.
