PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — A mountain lion bit a 4-year-old who was walking with their family over the weekend on a popular trail in Olympic National Park in Washington state, park officials said Monday.

Officials with the National Park Service said a 4-year-old child was injured after being bitten by a mountain lion inside Washington state’s Olympic National Park over the weekend.

A 4-year-old child was attacked by a mountain lion at a national park in Washington state, officials said. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Olympic National Park, near the Victoria Overlook area on Hurricane Ridge, according to the National Park Service.
