The Michelin Guide will expand its Florida restaurant selection in 2025 to include Greater Fort Lauderdale and The Palm Beaches. The expansion, announced on Feb. 4, comes three years after Michelin entered the South Florida market with Miami, which has 14 starred restaurants and 16 Bib Gourmand eateries.

The St. Petersburg-Clearwater area, along with the Palm Beaches and greater Fort Lauderdale, will be under the culinary microscope as the Michelin Guide announced it will begin evaluating restaurants in these locales for its prestigious star ratings in 2026.

The "reverent waiters" of Galatoire's are noted, as well as founder Jean Galatoire's origins near Pau, in France. Antoine's is a "museum-worthy brasserie," while Arnaud's has "an atmosphere comparable to a chic Parisian brasserie," with "good bourgeois cuisine."
