Car giant Nissan has unveiled full details of its new Leaf electric vehicle, which is set to be built at its UK factory. The third generation model will go on sale later this year, with a range of up to 375 miles on a single charge.

Nissan Motor Co.’s push to breathe new life into its lineup will see the debut of an updated version of the Leaf, the struggling brand’s compact family car that was the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle.

Back in 2010, when Tesla was a fledgling EV company, Nissan launched the first mass-produced electric car and gave it a suitably environmentally conscious name: the Nissan Leaf. It was named World Car of the Year and European Car of the Year, becoming the car that led the way for so many other EVs to follow.
