Through the years, many incredible players have called the ballpark their home. Those names include George Brett, Amos Otis, Lorenzo Cain, Alex Gordon and Bobby Witt Jr. The latter hit a significant home run Friday night in the Royals’ game against the Detroit Tigers.

The Kansas City Royals announced Wednesday morning that it will be hosting Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby X this September at Kauffman Stadium.

Singer, the former Royal, and other MLB pitchers love Kauffman Stadium’s reputation for not being a home-run friendly stadium. That will be put to the test later this year when Home Run Derby X comes to The K. The Royals on Wednesday announced the event will be held Sept. 13.
